Hi friends of Central Market and UN Plaza,
We’ve just updated the details on our homepage about our event coming up next Monday: Swing Night at UN Plaza. It’s so exciting to be able to partner with so many amazing people. After we sent out our event announcement earlier this month we got a call from Max, one the owners of Mr. Smith’s, a great little hangout for an after-work beer or a late night dance party on 7th and Market.
Max is also former owner of the HiBall lounge in North Beach (check out their memorial page on FB here), now closed, where much San Francisco Swing History was made. He was very excited about our Swing Night at UN Plaza, which is half a block from Mr. Smith’s. He’s going to host our post-reception and give a FREE cd of Swing Music from HiBall to the first twenty-five people attending!
Also in Swing Night news, one of Denia Dance’s board members, Kirsten Boyne, who’s organizing the Second Annual 2 Blocks of Art Walk on 6th Street in October for Urban Solutions, sat down with Split Pea Seduction, an awesome little restaurant on 6th and Mission last week. Split Pea will be cooking up some delicious food for our pre-reception at Art Institute’s Gallery. It’s going to be FREE, so be sure to come early so you can enjoy the amazing crostadas and soup!
